Hi! My name is Ainsley and I am married to Mark, and together we have two beautiful children.
I love everything about birth and I think women are amazing. Teaching antenatal classes is my dream job - I love it! I'm also really passionate about making sure dads and partners feel involved in the birthing and parenting process - they have such an important role to play!
I am a certified Childbirth Educator (through Childbirth International). This means is that I am specifically trained to teach adults and am experienced in group facilitation, ensuring that sessions are engaging and inclusive.
As a Childbirth Educator, I'm not part of your clinical care team - and that's actually a good thing! It means:
I am here just for you - no other reason
I offer an holistic, unbiased perspective that helps you explore all your options
I create space for open, honest conversations - no question is too small or too "out there"
I focus on your experience and your preferences, not just the medical side of birth.
My classes are designed to cover a wide range of topics and I provide independent advice and a perspective that is unique (but complementary) to your midwife. There is a lot of information out there, so I will help you wade through it all so you can make informed choices, that are specific to you.
I'd love to hear from you if you have any questions about me or my classes. Feel free to contact me anytime.
"I don't care what kind of birth you have... a home birth, a scheduled caesarean, epidural hospital birth, or if you birth alone in the woods next to a baby deer. I care that you had options, that you were supported in your choices, and that you were respected."
